Qinhuangdao boasts beautiful landscape with many historical interests, a blessed place of grace and fortune since ancient times. In 215 BC, China’s First emperor Qinshihuang arrived here and sent his men to the sea for elixirs, which favored Qinhuangdao with the only city in China that takes its name from an emperor. In 207, Wei Emperor Wudi mounted Mt. Jieshi and wrote his renowned poem “Viewing the Sea”.
