An objective and locally-oriented approach has been adopted at the QETDZ, taking into full account our unique geographical, industrial, logistic and human resources advantages. Additionally, full-scale, industry-specific and well-targeted investment attraction operations have been carried forward based on an accurate understanding of the functional aspects of the QETDZ, leading to a constantly expanding investment scale and increasingly effective use of foreign funds.

1) Korean enterprises
By the end of 2007, a total of 120 Korean enterprises, represented by LG Electronics, SAMYANG GENEX (Qinhuangdao) Co., Ltd. WILO Water Pump (Qinhuangdao) Co., Ltd., Qinhuangdao Castec Industrial Co., Ltd., Qinhuangdao Sanqin Western-style Clothes Co., Ltd, Qinhuangdao Xinhua Glass Processing Ind. Co., Ltd, have been approved by the QETDZ Administrative Office, attracting a total investment of US$590 million, US$440 million in registered capital, and US$430 million in contracted foreign investment. Invested industries mainly include mechanical engineering, electronics, food, automobile parts, fashion and building glass, etc.

2) Japanese enterprises
By the end of 2007, a total of 66 Japanese enterprises, represented by Asahi Auto Glass (Qinhuangdao) Co., Ltd., Qinhuangdao Sakaguchi Stainless Steel Wire Co., Ltd., Qinhuangdao Enbi Bearings Co., Ltd., China Fujitaka Electronics Co., Ltd., TTQ, Minmetals & Tianwei Steel（Qinhuangdao）Co., Ltd, Qinhuangdao Huaying Phosphoric Acid Co., Ltd, have been approved by the QETDZ Administrative Office, attracting a total investment of US$520 million, US$240 million in registered capital, and US$360 million in contracted foreign investment. Invested industries mainly include automobile parts, mechanical engineering, electronics, metal rolling, chemical engineering and building material, etc.

3) American enterprises
By the end of 2007, a total of 81 American enterprises, represented by Alcoa Bohai Aluminum Co., Ltd., Eriez Magnetics (Qinhuangdao) Co., Ltd., GE-HPEC-NTC Energy Services (Qinhuangdao) Co., Ltd, have been approved by the QETDZ Administrative Office, attracting a total investment of US$550 million, US$340 million in registered capital, and US$250 million in contracted foreign investment. Invested industries mainly include mechanical engineering, electronics, metal rolling and service outsourcing, etc.

4) German enterprises
By the end of 2007, a total of 16 German enterprises, represented by Demag Cranes & Components China, Altendorf (Qinhuangdao) Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., KHS Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing (Qinhuangdao) Co., Ltd., ZI (Qinhuangdao) Die-casting Industry Co., Ltd, Haide Daily Chemicals Co., Ltd, have been approved by the QETDZ Administrative Office, attracting a total investment of US$73 million, US$50 million in registered capital, and US$46 million in contracted foreign investment. Invested industries mainly include machinofacture and fine chemical engineering, etc.

5) French enterprises
By the end of 2007, a total of 11 French enterprises, represented by Qinhuangdao Fanghua-SECM Machinery Co., Ltd, Qinhuangdao Jindi Wine Co., Ltd, have been approved by the QETDZ Administrative Office, attracting a total investment of US$57 million, US$48 million in registered capital, and US$47 million in contracted foreign investment. Invested industries mainly include machinofacture and food processing, etc.

6) Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwanese enterprises
By the end of 2007, a total of 233 enterprises founded by investors from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan have been approved by the QETDZ Administrative Office, attracting a total investment of US$1.89 billion, US$1.16 billion in registered capital, and US$1.17 billion in contracted foreign investment. Represented by Wan Chi Steel Pipe Co. Ltd., Qinhuangdao Shouqin Metal Material Co., Ltd,, Hongqisheng Precision Electronics (Qinhuangdao) Co., Ltd, Hongfujin Precision Industry Co., Ltd, Zhongyue POSCO (Qinhuangdao) Tinplate Industrial Co., Ltd, Qinhuangdao Sanfeng Chemical Tanning Co., Ltd, Supertime (Qinhuangdao) Malting Co., Ltd, COFCO INDUSTRY (Qinhuangdao) Pang Thai Co., Ltd, Qinhuangdao Aoge Group Co., Ltd, these enterprises covered industries, ranging from mechanical engineering, electronics and metal rolling to chemical engineering, food processing and building materials, etc.
