1) An Ideal geographical location
Hailed as the ¡°rear garden of Beijing and Tianjin¡±, Qinhuangdao joins the northern China economic zone with its northeastern counterpart. It is situated at the center of the Bohai-Rim Economic Circle, a prime location in the Beijing-Tianjin metropolitan region, and serves as a gateway to the Pacific for northern, northeastern and northwestern Chinese cities. The city therefore boasts a unique advantageous geographical position in terms of being supported by the ¡°radiative¡± benefits of surrounding metropolises, such as Beijing, Tianjin and old industrial bases in the Northeast China. Located 280km away from Beijing, 245km from Tianjin and 365km from Shenyang, Qinhuangdao is fully-accessible to a huge domestic market of over 300 million consumers across some 30 medium/big-sized Chinese cities.
2) Highly-developed traffic networks
 QETDZ is located in the juncture of the Circum-Bohai City Belt. It is the gateway to North China, Northeast China, and Northwest China. Lying in the center of Northeast Asia, it is the nearest point of departure of the Eurasian Continental Bridge. Qinhuangdao Port, with an annual throughput in excess of 250 million tons, has regular clients all across the world in over 130 countries and regions worldwide, providing them with specialized berths professionally designed for bulk/container cargo, petroleum and chemical products and heavy/oversize equipments, etc. Major railways of Beijing-Harbin, Beijing-Qinhuangdao and Datong-Qinhuangdao join in Qinhuangdao. Beijing-Qinhuangdao express railway, China¡¯s first high-grade passenger line is in operation. When Tianjin-Beijing inter-city railway line is completed, Qinhuangdao will be one of the cities in Beijing-Tianjin 1-hour-trip economic circle. Beijing-Shenyang expressway, the coastal expressway and State highways G102 and G205 work in a swift highway network, with Chengde-Qinhuangdao expressway construction started in 2009. Shanhaiguan Airport presently operates airways serving more than 20 medium/big-sized Chinese cities, and the site selection report for the new international airport has been approved by Civil Aviation Administration of China.
3) Favorable investment environment and fully-developed infrastructure
Qinhuangdao ranks among the top 40 most sought-after Chinese cities for investors.  Throughout the development of the QETDC, consistent emphasis has been placed on the issue of a healthy ecological environment.
